International Potato Tour — Privacy & Data Use

The International Potato Tour professional community is managed by the Potatoes.News editorial team. The legal data-controller identification and jurisdiction-specific details are being verified for the public beta. Data we collect

When you apply for membership, the mandatory questionnaire collects your professional name, business email, organization, professional role, country of residence, industry specialization, and reason for joining. Language preferences and any website URL may also be provided. We record your application consent, basic server security logs and, after activation, account and community activity, such as profile data, posts, groups, messages and uploaded photos.

Why we process it

We use this information to review professional membership, verify applicants, administer access permissions, operate the community, maintain security, provide features you request, and respond to support or privacy requests. We do not automatically activate applications. Public directory publication and marketing communications are separate, optional choices.

Hosting, location and access

The primary WordPress and MariaDB installation now operates in Yandex Cloud in the Russian Federation (ru-central1), with backups in the same cloud region. During migration the previous Hetzner server is retained temporarily for controlled fallback. Authorized administrators and contracted technical providers may have access as needed. Participation from other countries may involve international data transfers, and applicable legal requirements will be reviewed with specialist counsel.

Retention and your rights

Applications are held while administrators review them and until they are no longer needed; data may be retained longer where required by law. Technical logs and backup copies have separate rotation schedules. You can request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of optional consent by writing to v.kovalev@potatoes.news. Withdrawal does not make past lawful processing unlawful.

Essential cookies keep sessions secure and remember preferences. Optional analytics and external translation functions, where enabled, may involve separate providers. Review the Cookie Policy, Terms and Community Guidelines. No consent to marketing is assumed.

Юридические реквизиты оператора уточняются для публичной версии Для обращений по вопросам персональных данных: v.kovalev@potatoes.news. При подаче заявки собираются ФИО, рабочая электронная почта, организация, должность, страна, профессиональная специализация, цель участия и отдельно указанные согласия. Данные используются для рассмотрения заявки, подтверждения профессионального статуса и работы сообщества. После переключения основной сайт и база данных размещаются в российском регионе Yandex Cloud. Участники из России могут подавать заявки наравне с зарубежными специалистами. Доступ к аккаунту предоставляется только после проверки администратором. Для уточнения, исправления или удаления данных направьте запрос на указанный адрес.
